PLAN DATE: WEDS / DEC. 5
From acclaimed Chef Jonathan Benno, formerly of Per Se and Lincoln Ristorante, comes brand new Mediterranean restaurant Benno. Located in the vibrant NoMad neighborhood and within The Evelyn Hotel, Benno will serve as the chef’s third and final project in the newly redesigned hotel. Opened just this month, the restaurant features a delicious menu with dishes such as Black Bass with escargots, fingerling potatoes, and garlic-parsley butter, Veal Chop with sweetbreads, épeautre, chanterelles, cardoon, béarnaise reduction, and Ravioli Biguesto with celery root, black trumpet mushrooms, brown butter, and pecorino romano. With so many options to choose from, it’s no wonder hearty prix-fixe menus are available to choose from if so desired. A three-course meal starts at $95, four courses for $125, and five courses for $145.
After dinner walk up the block to Vin Sur Vingt Wine Bar for a romantic nightcap or two. With a continuously rotating, extensive list of 250 wines (over 50 wines offered by the glass nightly) and six locations throughout the city, it’s clear why this bar has garnered such a great reputation. The rotating menu is chosen from selective regions such as Loire Valley, Bourgogne, Corscia, Bordeaux, and more. Sip on sweet wines that start at just $12.50 or opt for a bottle to take the evening up a notch. Whether your preference is white, red, rose, sweet, tart or dry, there are more than enough options to enjoy.
