bkw by Brooklyn Winery

THE GIST

Though the atmosphere was lively, the service accommodating, and the wine fantastic (as expected from a winery-lead spot), the food was, sadly, either hit or miss. But bkw does have a reward program in place, which could be a fun addition to a wine-loving couple’s life. Listen below to Holly & Josh’s full review.

Holly's Take

Food Rating: 7

The fried plantains were my favorite. The Brussels sprouts were okay, but I was not a fan of the meat included. The hummus and the pumpkin seed brittle were both a little disappointing, but the brittle grew on me with time.

Service Rating: 7

Our waitress was super friendly and had a great attitude. I found the maitre d and one of the other servers were a little less friendly and seemed a little stuck up.

Fun Factor: 6

It was just a little too stuffy to truly be fun! And, we weren’t blown away by anything. We were seated in a back corner and kept just finding everything to be “meh”.

Josh's Take

Food Rating: 6

The Brussels sprouts with house-made pastrami were pretty good!

Service Rating: 8

Our main server was friendly, timely, and helpful.

Fun Factor: 7

It was a cozy and softly-lit space, not too loud so we could have a conversation.
