Bonchon x YAS! Showcase

PLAN DATE: THURS / APR. 25

PLAN DETAILS:

Just outside of Koreatown sits Bonchon, the go-to place for juicy and fresh fried chicken. The vibe is relaxed but the atmosphere is swankier than your typical chicken joint, with sleek black booths and walls, accented by a red bar and decorative wooden slats. The restaurant is spacious and also has an upstairs area if you need to dig into your chicken with fewer witnesses. The fried chicken is obviously the star here, made to order instead of sitting under a heat lamp and arriving with a variety of sauces. They also have great sides, and while you and your date are legally obligated to order the seasoned fries, they also have popcorn chicken and fried rice dishes to complete your meal.

After dinner, treat yourself to top tier comedy at the YAS! Showcase over at the non-profit theater The Tank. Featuring a variety of comedy including improv, stand up, and solo acts, this show is comprised solely of female and non-binary performers so you can not only laugh at their hilarity but also support underrepresented voices. The show is hosted by veteran comedians Rachel Clayton and Ali Mierzejewski who hand pick improv performers from house improv teams at The Armory and book solo acts with credits from shows like Impractical Jokers, Reductress, New York Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, and more. There’s also a series of giveaways throughout the hour show. At only $5, the question of whether this show is worth it can be answered with just one word: YAS!
