Bronx Zoo

THE GIST

The Bronx Zoo is one of the largest urban zoos in the world. It’s also important to note that they’re a part of the Wildlife Conservation Society, so every dollar spent on a ticket goes straight back to saving animals in the wild. (They only house animals who have to be there.) Take a play out of Victoria and Graig’s handbook and act like a couple of crazy kids at the zoo. Listen to their very comprehensive review below.

Victoria's Take

Service Rating: 9

All of the staff we encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. It was the sort of experience where we felt comfortable approaching anyone if we had a question.

Fun Factor: 10

How do you not have fun at a zoo?! The Bronx Zoo is particularly large so there’s always plenty to see – we love the animal training and feeding sessions. We also have no problem being silly and acting like kids – the zoo is kind of perfect for that. It’s also just a beautiful setting for a day outside in the city.

Graig's Take

Service Rating: 9

The staff at the zoo was friendly and knowledgeable. They offered information on the different animals and their behaviors. There were a few trainers at the tiger exhibit who were especially knowledgeable and demonstrated some of the tiger’s behaviors.

Fun Factor: 10

There are so many amazing things to see here. It is pure enjoyment, with some learning mixed in. There are great conversations to be had about the different animals, each of your favorites, which you’d want to be in a future life, and all that fun stuff. The grounds, and buildings are gorgeous, and no matter how many times you go, you always see and learn something new. It’s a great place to go and feel like a kid again. Be aware that at the wrong times it can be over crowded, and can be frustrating. There are a lot of kids running around, and the ones that are misbehaved can have you finding yourself getting annoyed.
