PLAN DATE: SUN / JUNE 23
It’s time for soup dumplings, darling. You enter Bund on Broadway and are welcomed by a mural of Shanghai painted on the wall. Honoring the waterfront area of Shanghai (The Bund), this eatery is known for their pork soup dumplings which the chefs grind fresh every day, hand wrap in a wad of dough, and concoct into a pork-skin-based soup with garlic, onion, and chicken stock. Even though the thing you should order is the dumplings, there are many other options, notably the Peking duck dish and spicy pork noodle soup. Are your stomachs growling yet?
Next, cozy up with some wine, fondue, and a cheese plate at RaR bar. Known to have the best guacamole in Astoria, this bar is what you crave from a neighborhood haunt. The staff is friendly, there are nightly events (open mic, comedy shows, and trivia). The vibe is casual, yet unique—notable are the wine glass holder light fixtures above the bar! And there’s happy hour all night on Mondays and 4 pm – 7 pm Tuesday to Friday. Save dat money!
