PLAN DATE: SUN / JULY 28
Start your day off with brunch at the adorable Cafe Colette. This restaurant has an eclectic, vintage feel with a zinc bar and pressed tin ceiling that’s livened up with pool blue walls and bright red chairs. In addition to the main dining room, they also have a greenhouse-esque patio filled with plants and light. On the menu are brunch classics dressed up to be their best – french toast but in a cast iron pan, chicken salad but with lardons and chicory, pancakes but make it fashion (with creme fraiche). They also have a number of creative coffee drinks, including a cold brew float with vanilla gelato.
After brunch, take your “there’s always time for dessert” lover over to Kahkow. This chocolate shop is new to Brooklyn, though it’s had a successful chain of stores in the Dominican Republic. The chocolate bars are made from cacao grown on a family farm in the DR, so it’s guaranteed to be rich, luscious, and high quality. In addition to selling these treats, the shop also has other baked goods, coffee, and (of course) hot chocolate, so you can grab a seat and let yourself sink into a Willy Wonka type of bliss.
