PLAN DATE: MON / JUL. 30
To start the week off with a bang, head to Cherry Point in Greenpoint for house-made, ethically produced charcuterie, seasonal vegetables and fresh interpretations of classics like steak tartare and grilled seafood. We love how their menu is laid out by category: meat, fish or cheese — pick your poison. A lovely selection of oysters are just $3 a pop, and specialty cocktails are a “reasonable for New York” $13. Beyond all of that, it’s just really pretty and comfortable in there, which is what we think date night is all about.
Next, if you’re in the mood for glitz-casual, Goldie’s has you covered. Walking a fine line between hip and fancy, this retro bar offers up classic red leather booths, gold-framed photos of celeb royalty, and a decked out horseshoe bar. You’ll especially love the unique craft libations like Goldie’s Lager (only $3!), but be sure not to neglect the tiki-esque outdoor patio ripe with summer vibes.
