PLAN DATE: TUES / MAY 28
You and your love have a laid-back dinner followed by a funky nightcap on the cards tonight. Start at el cocotero, an authentic Venezuelan eatery that hides behind an easy-to-miss storefront. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you hear the Venezuelan pop music as you enter the restaurant. Venezuelan artifacts and symbols are scattered through the space adding to that easy going authenticity. el cocotero is famous for its arepas, and deservedly so—we especially recommend the Chinquiquira. This said, there’s more to the menu here, and anything you order promises to leave you and your hunger(s) absolutely satiated.
Let your tequila-loosened limbs fly free at the subterranean Red Rabbit Club. The club takes up the mantle left by The Gilded Lily to give you the nightlife spot of your dreams. Once you’re down the rabbit hole (aka stairs), you’ll be met with a packed sunken dance floor, plush velvet booths, and fantastical elements—anything from bodysuited dancers to wacky magicians.
