PLAN DATE: MON / MAY 13
Missing summer? You’ll find it in full force at The Crabby Shack in Crown Heights. All year long they dish out warm weather favorites like lobster rolls, crab tacos, homemade lemonade, and banana pudding. The servers are funny, engaging and make excellent suggestions, so don’t be shy in asking for some guidance. Ordering a half pound “Dungeness Crab” can feel overwhelming.
Next up is one of our favorite storytelling events, the Franklin Park Reading series. Not only will you get to hear some unbelievable prose from today’s writers, but they’ll also have $5 drafts, dessert and a free-to-enter raffle for the featured authors’ books. The event recurs every second Monday of the month from 8 pm—10 pm. Tonight’s writers are Juliet Escoria (Juliet the Maniac, Witch Hunt, Black Cloud), Michele Filgate (What My Mother and I Don’t Talk About), Evan James (Cheer Up, Mr. Widdicombe), Dennis Norris II (Awst Collection—Dennis Norris II, Everyday People), and Kim Coleman Foote (The Missouri Review, Black Renaissance Noire).

idk tip: Don’t try to come here on a Tuesday — they’re closed! Also, the steamed shrimp with garlic butter is heaven on earth.
