PLAN DATE: SAT / JULY 13
District Local is a seasonal tapas (small plates) restaurant with a wide selection of beers, craft cocktails, and curated wines. We think tapas are the ideal way to spend date night. You get to try more things and there’s something romantic about sharing. Win/win. Using the best ingredients, sourced seasonally and locally, you can expect to find modern takes on classics like the duck breast—with lavender honey and dijon mustard, or grilled broccoli with preserved lemon chimichurri and scallop ceviche with tonka bean oil and nori. There are two cocktails on draft, the Hibiscus Margarita and the District Old Fashioned.
A New York institution by now, the iconic bar and restaurant Cafeteria got it right from the get-go—serving food and drinks during weekend brunches to late night noshing with sidewalk seating and a good crowd—24/7. They opened the doors in 1997, and it feels like you’re stepping right back to the ’90s when you’re there, with those plastic tables and chairs, (you’ll know what we mean when you see them) and a “contemporary modern” aesthetic, but we are not complaining—it’s comforting in a city where everything looks the same these days. The drinks are solid and the vibe is high any time of day.
