PLAN DATE: SAT / MAR. 2
The first Saturday of every month, this unsuspecting coworking space transforms into a standup comedy show that serves as one of the neighborhood’s most compelling open secrets. At Electric Laughs, comedian Khalid Rahmaan (who made his debut on Conan late last year) hosts some of the best stand-ups in NYC for a night of debauchery…and free booze. This month’s headliner is Rob Haze, freshly off his own late night TV debut after performing a set on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
But since it’s Saturday night, your evening is just beginning as you make your way to MeMe’s Diner a short walk away. Touted by its owners as being “very, very gay,” this spot is making waves with its emphasis on inclusivity in a welcoming environment that also serves up diner snacks like BBQ meatballs, patty melts and mac and cheese sprinkled with potato chips. Wash it all down with a serving of MeMe’s punch, made with rum, ginger, passion fruit, lime, cava, and bitters. Basically, the most #Goals Saturday night ever.
