Faun, a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant in Prospect Heights, is garnering high praise due to its flavorful usage of seasonal ingredients and its all-star chef, Brian Leth, who has worked everywhere from a ranch in Wyoming to Vinegar Hill House (also an excellent choice for dinner). The backyard patio garden doesn’t hurt either. While Holly and Josh liked what they ate, they felt the menu was limited and the portions were small. Listen to their full review below.

The food was all good quality, but really small portions (in my opinion) and a pretty limited menu.

Friendly and attentive staff!

The back patio area was really nice and a fun space to just sit and enjoy a Sunday dinner.
The menu online is incorrect 🙁 Also, reservations are for the main dining room, but the back patio is largely reserved for walk-ins.
I would definitely come back for drinks, but probably not for food.

The green salad was plain (just lettuce and a vinaigrette) but good. For a main I had the cold fried chicken, which was served with a buttermilk sauce and cucumbers. It was very good (the batter was crispy and not oily and the chicken was juicy)

Our server came over regularly to make sure we were doing alright. At one point she warned us that the mains take a little time to make, which was appreciated.

The back patio is beautiful, a nice escape from urban life. Faun also seemed to cater to families, so it is not just a place for dates.
Service is included with the price of the food. It is nice to see a restaurant making an effort to provide a living wage for their staff.
I would come back to have a drink sometime. While my food was delicious, there is a limited menu, so dining could be a hit or miss.
