PLAN DATE: MON / JUNE 17
If you and your lover compared your star charts on the first date and regularly resort to tarot to help you decide what’s for dinner, then Gathering the Coven is the comedy show for you. Located at The PIT theater in their basement space (ooo, spooky!), this is a light-hearted variety show that features comedians and musicians from all over NYC. The catch? They’re all witches, and are prepared to talk everything magic and heathen. Hosted by Lauren Maul of Amazon Reviews the Musical, this show deserves your Hocus Pocus focus.
When the charms of the witches have worn off, celebrate the general idea of harvest with dinner at Lamarca. This Sicilian eatery has an airy, cafe vibe with plenty of natural light, muted color tones, and few pieces of Old World Art. The food here is authentic and far from fussy with a real mom and pop vibe. Along with sandwiches and soups, there are over 30 varieties of pasta dishes sauced up any way you like—though the marinara and mushroom ravioli are what you should like here.
