PLAN DATE: SUN / JUNE 10
If you want to stretch your palate, you can’t do much better than German’s Soup. Serving up traditional Guyanese cuisine (their cow heel soup is the trademark dish here), this restaurant is a US extension of the 60-year-running location in Georgetown, Guyana. Though modestly decorated, the simple (but flavorful AF) menu will win you over without competition. From their oxtail to pepperpot options, this place is the closest you’ll get to experiencing Guyanese culture without actually, you know, going to Guyana.
Now, since everyone knows that the best way to follow up a great meal is with some drinks and dancing, you’ll want your next step to be The Hills Lounge just down the block. This casual neighborhood bar is a great place to top off the night, offering up a laid back, fun, and no-frills atmosphere. If it’s still warm out, find some space on the outside patio and sip back on one of their Hills Iced Teas (easily the best way to transition into summer).
793 Utica Avenue, Brooklyn
idk tip: Be sure to wash your delicious meal down with their carbonated Mauby made in-house. Because honestly, why wouldn’t you?

idk tip: If you’re craving something sweet afterwards, Pam’s Bakery just next door will more than satisfy your sugar-craving needs.
