PLAN DATE: THURS / APR. 18
Bonjour! Bienvenue à Le Gigot. If you haven’t surmised, you’re in for a night of French cuisine. This place is simply delightful—there’s really no other word for it. It’s quiet, cozy and somehow not remotely pretentious. Definitely go ahead and make a reservation ahead of time because Le Gigot is a neighborhood fave and is on the smaller size. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but we suggest the Boeuf Bourguignon. And for dessert? A French kiss, course.
After some noms, head over to The Red Lion, a bar known for its live music and good times to be had by all. The quality of cover bands can be a toss-up, but we promise there are more hits than misses when it comes to the rotating talent at this venue. In terms of ambiance, this is a run-of-the-mill West Village pub, but the vibe will often change depending on the particular night’s music genre. It’s a great place to throw a few back and take in some tunes.
