PLAN DATE: WEDS / MAR. 21
Tonight, you’ll be making your way up to Queens for some traditional Greek cuisine at Gregory’s 26 Corner Taverna. The vibe here is super casual (so if you’ve been hoping to keep date night relatively chill, you’re welcome) and the food has no Greek equal in this neighborhood. Also, the prices are super reasonable, so you can really feel good about overindulging tonight, whether you’re going for something lowkey like dolmadakia or going all-in with baby shark (yeah, baby shark).
After dinner, you two will go from appetizing lamb chops to awkward laughter at Q.E.D. Angela Cobb is hosting a collection of standup comedians recounting the awkwardness of their “first time.” Q.E.D. is a cafe and performance space that refers to itself as “after-school for grown-ups,” where friends, couples, and singletons alike can lose themselves in the inept gracelessness of young love. Tickets are $10, and the show runs from 9-10:30 p.m. Can’t make it to this one? Check here for the next “My First Time” show.
Gregory's 26 Corner Taverna
26-02 23rd Avenue, Long Island City
idk tip: If you’re both into the same kinds of food, you should definitely consider going in together on one of their “combo for 2” dishes.
27-16 23rd Avenue, Queens
idk tip: In case you were wondering, Q.E.D. stands for “quod erat demonstrandum,” which translates to: “”that which was demonstrated.”
