PLAN DATE: TUES / DEC. 11
Give yourselves over to the Cajun and Creole gods and get your hands dirty at The Gumbo Bros. Inspired by authentic Louisiana flavors, this cozy space is all about Deep South specialties, with everything from classic po’boys (we’re partial to the hot honey fried chicken and the peachy pig) to their tried-and-true gumbo (trust us and order Nanny’s Seafood). The space itself is tight, without feeling cramped, and the Southern inspiration borrowed straight out of the French Quarter is unavoidable. That said, what would hearty New Orleans cooking be without some homemade beignets? If dinner ends tonight without your hands covered in powdered sugar, you’re both doing something wrong.
Next, head to two8two Bar & Burger to cap the night off. This casual space is based off your average American bar, with brick walls, brews, and a central fireplace to keep things toasty, but their specialty cocktails give it an extra kick. We’re in love with the Bison Grass Vesper, a little obsessed with the Whiskey Ginger Fizz, and feeling fancy AF with the Boulevardier. And, assuming you’re not too full, you should absolutely split a Blue Marble salted caramel milkshake to really do the night justice.
