PLAN DATE: THURS / MAY 23
Start off your night with an intimate dinner at Jams, located in the 1 Hotel in Central Park. If you’re the kind of person who wants to check out the ‘hype’ surrounding a restaurant for yourself, this is the perfect spot for you. Jams has a rustic feel, decked with clerestory windows that bring mounds of natural light into the space. Start off with some mussels and work your way to the scallops or strip steak. Be sure to pair your meal with one of their specialty cocktails—we especially love the Greenhouse, made with gin, kale, and other green goodies.
After dinner, head to Whiskey Trader for a few drinks in a bar that’s the perfect combination of unpretentious lounge and not-too-grimy sports bar. This place is always busy, and maybe that’s due to the fact that they offer free popcorn for all patrons and provide quality booze. What more can one ask for? There are always some almost too good to be true drink specials, so be sure to inquire at the bar. You should probably order some pickleback shots… ‘whiskey’ is in the bar’s name after all.

idk tip: If you enjoy your dinner at Jams, you should come back for their breakfast. They make a mean pancake dish.
71 West 55th Street, Manhattan
idk tip: You’ll most likely be able to snag a seat here if you get to the bar before 6:30pm. If you’re arriving after, there’s plenty of space to stand around with a drink in your hand.
