La Contenta x Doughnut Plant

Forget Chipotle and saddle up for some legitimately masterful Mexican food. At La Contenta, the two of you will be welcomed into a small, but inspired space, with trendy decor, quirky black and white graffiti on the walls, and, yes, even a drink that has grasshopper salt on the rim (FYI: contains legit grasshoppers). Also, though food options may be exactly what you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant, its XL portions and insane flavors make up for anything that seems potentially “been there, done that.”

After dinner, get your sweet tooth ready. Doughnut Plant is an adorably petite doughnut shop (or donut shop, if you’re a sucker for brevity) that specializes in some genuinely creative flavors. So, whether you manage to find a seat inside or decide to simply take your treats to go, you can choose between options like Rose Doughflower (made with rose water and actual rose petals), Peanut Butter and Banana Cream (“the world’s first square-filled doughnut”), and Tres Leches (speaks for itself).
