PLAN DATE: WEDS / APR. 10
Head to the Upper West Side for something new with the arrival of Leyla. Enter this sleek, contemporary restaurant for some Turkish fare with Mediterranean influences. ‘Leyla’ means beautiful, and they definitely deliver—the walls are covered with bright, colorful Turkish rugs and each table is lit by candles. Grab a seat at the chic bar to watch fresh flatbread cook in a ceramic oven. The menu is designed to be shared, so it’s wise to start with a couple of mezzes and pide (flatbread with toppings). From the shared plates to the ambiance, it’s just the spot for an intimate dinner for two.
After dinner, liven up your night and head to the neighborhood gem Dive 75. This isn’t exactly a dive bar—the name refers to its former digs as an actual dive shop, Pan Aqua Divers. It’s got a super chill vibe with a fish tank, fake fireplace, and free candy. Grab one of their board games, like Scrabble, Connect Four, and Jenga for friendly competition while you sip on your drink. It’s the type of place you can sit comfortably and hang out with your date.
