PLAN DATE: SUN / MAY 19
Whether you fit into the LGBTQ+ umbrella or are an ally, the history of queer rights and activism is equal parts fascinating and fun. On this three hour tour, you’ll spend the better part of your afternoon visiting the oldest gay bar in the city, eating ice cream, and of course, visiting the famous Stonewall Inn. Your tour includes an alcoholic drink at the bar and a “fancy cone” of your choice at Big Gay Ice Cream (shout out to the Salty Pimp) so you’ll have refreshments to keep your energy up. Speaking of energy, your guide is guaranteed to be just as pepped up as they are knowledgeable, so get ready to learn and like it.
After plenty of walking, a drink, and your ice cream aperitif has started up an appetite, take your date over to Rasa. Specializing in Malaysian and Japanese dishes, this restaurant is casual but still well decorated with bronze decor and lighting that gives off a warm yellow glow. Tuck into hearty dishes like Assam fish curry, basil eggplant, or rendang beef and wash it down with a glass of plum wine—or one of the many beers, wines, sake, or cocktails here.
