PLAN DATE: WEDS / MAY 16
Just because it’s Wednesday doesn’t mean you need to abbreviate date night. In the spirit of staying out late with your lover, we’ve put together a three parter not to be missed. Start with dinner at Lido, where cozy, comfortable Italian gets the Harlem hospitality treatment. Named after the famous beach Lido di Venezia, this Harlem mainstay offers a delicious respite from city living. With burrata, truffle butter gnocchi, and salmon with risotto, Lido will make you feel as if you’re dining in the Italian country home of a friend—who could ask for more on a Wednesday?
Make sure to leave some room after dinner for a sweet treat. Head next door to Levain Bakery, where the fist-sized cookies are the stuff of legends, “Best of” lists, and long lines. Thankfully, the Harlem location gets a little less traffic than its downtown counterparts, so you’ll be able to snag a few of these warm and decadent cookies to share. We’re partial to the dark chocolate chip and chocolate chip walnut, but you can’t go wrong here.
After you’ve polished off dessert, settle in at Silvana for live music in an intimate, speakeasy-like setting. From the decor to the food and service, Silvana invokes the sights, sounds, and smells of a Middle Eastern Market. Enjoy Mediterranean bites, cocktails and wine, and hookah until the late hours of the evening, and allow yourselves to enjoy a Wednesday night getaway that has you both leaving all the week’s worries behind.
