Lucky Strike x Gilligan’s

Start tonight in Soho with dinner at Lucky Strike, a shabby-chic French American restaurant with service that is unobtrusive and efficient, just the way we like it. Happy hour is from 4-7 p.m. every day and includes both a drink and food menu. Small plates like house-made hummus and tomato bruschetta are just $6, and drinks range from $5-8. Whether it’s hot or cold, we can’t stop ourselves from ordering the French Onion Soup here — it’s that good. Lucky Strike is one of those rare Soho gems that bring both class and romanticism to a dining experience without the hefty bill.

After dinner, skip over to Gilligan’s (yes, if you think this outdoor bar is going to feel like Gilligan’s Island, you would be right). You’ll feel totally in the know stepping through this stunning garden oasis in the middle of New York’s concrete jungle. Fair warning, the service can be a little slow here due to the high foot traffic, but we think the atmosphere and the drinks more than make up for it. Every once in a while, it feels good not to rush. Pro-tip: order the frozen watermelon margarita.
