PLAN DATE: THURS / APR. 18
Tonight, it’s all about the romance—head to one of Greenpoint’s most romantic spaces, Milk and Roses, for your dinner. It’s American fare with a Southern-Italian influence in a space designed to mimic an old library with bookcase-lined walls, comfortable red couches, and even a piano in the corner. If you want to start the night with a drink, we recommend springing for one of the venue’s inventive cocktails—like A Distant Dream (a gin-based drink with pear, lavender, and Grappa) or Orchard Flowers (a blend of liqueurs highlighting the flavors of apples, grapes, violettes, and elderflowers). All of their creations are made from ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients and promise to be all kinds of satiating.
Afterward, head to Troost for a nightcap amidst plants and flowers in their full, beautiful garden. A coffee bar by day that turns decidedly boozier as night falls, the spot is small and unpretentious. Their drinks are reasonably priced with a happy hour that goes until 8 pm. Troost also plays host to different musicians almost every night of the week—the perfect backdrop for your last stop.
