PLAN DATE: TUES / FEB. 13
Just a few blocks south of Madison Square Park, Scampi is ideal for couples who are equal parts seafood and Italian food lovers. Chef PJ Calapa’s control of flavors is evident in every bite — especially the delicata squash and mezzaluna (though our taste buds may be just a little biased). That said, if in doubt, go ahead and order one of their two titular dishes: Langostines “Scampi” and Mafaldini “Scampi.”
After dinner, make your way over to Flatiron Hall for a hoppy, effervescent nightcap or two. This dimly-lit, gothic-esque pub offers house beer on tap like Midnight Black Stout and Pushover Pale Ale. With a bartop that belongs to a saloon from the Old West, the setting is old-fashioned, casual, and perfect for some late night, date night chit chat. That said, if you’re looking for something a little livelier, just head downstairs to their brick-encased Beer Cellar.
