PLAN DATE: WEDS / JUNE 5
Instead of studying up on fun facts to impress your date, learn those facts together at Sci Cafe. The Natural History Museum hosts this free event every first Wednesday night where the curious and thirsty can grab drinks at a cash bar and talk about cutting edge science. This month has marine ecologist Jeremy Jackson sharing observations from his decades studying the ocean. Don’t worry it’s all climate change doom and gloom—though Jackson plans to acknowledge those realities, he apparently also has optimistic finds to share.
Blow off some steam and embrace the feeling of being in college coming from a lecture at Jake’s Dilemma. This sports bar tends to attract a younger crowd and has a fun, relaxed energy no matter what time of night. The bar has more of a pub feel with dark wood and stain glass lamps hanging over the foosball and beer pong tables. There’s a different drink special every night, so grab a discounted pitcher or cold mug of beer and get ready to see how competitive your foosball-playing lover really is.
