PLAN DATE: SUN / SEP. 9
It’s only right to bid adieu to summer on the coast, so let’s get date night rolling in Dumbo at SUGARCANE. With bold Cuban influence, an impressive iron and brick facade, and a chic, sprawling interior with tufted burnt orange booths, and stunning views of the Brooklyn Bridge, the style is intoxicating. Tucked inside a massive remodeled warehouse, SUGARCANE will no doubt have your attention at first glance. But all the decor aside, their seafood-focused menu is heavenly. Whether you go for oysters, sushi or any sort of grilled fish, you’ll leave happy.
After dinner, head over to Butler Bake Shop. This new Dumbo cafe is a pastry paradise, with a small, but delectable collection of everything from strawberry crumb cakes to blueberry cheesecakes. The attention to detail (both in the flavor and appearance) is masterful, and that visual flair extends all the way to the shop itself, with hip, geometric patterns on the walls, brown leather booths, and brass sconces throughout. Be sure to tip your hat (or head, if you’re hatless) to head pastry chef Ryan Butler.

idk tip: Not feeling seafood? Go all-in on the 20 oz bone-in ribeye if you’re feeling fancy AF.

idk tip: Pair their turmeric and ginger latte with their gluten-free chocolate muffin filled with banana cream. Then swear off all other pastries, because none will ever reach this level of perfection.
