PLAN DATE: WEDS / JUNE 26
Calling Chef Bae! At Sushi By Bae, the renowned Oona Tempest presents an omakase experience unlike any other—for $110, you get 15 courses at a six-seat counter. Honestly, there’s no other deal like this in NYC. This Edomae-style sushi is served fresh (duh) while true Edomae expertly perfect the traditional curing technique where intuition really plays its part. There are three seatings per night, at 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9 p.m., and as you might assume, reservations are hard to come by. If you and your bae want an unparalleled sushi meal in an intimate setting, this is the one.
Next, head over to The Winslow, a slightly upscale but still casual enough bar that is great for gin cocktails, people-watching, and late-night dance parties. This is a U.K.-styled gin house so we recommend you try several of the varieties in their specialty cocktails like the Shisito My Libido (with roasted shishito and black pepper syrup, bitters, grapefruit, and lemon) or in a flight of four one-ounce pours. Obviously, there are drinks for the gin-haters, and to those folk, we highly suggest the Moscow Mule which is rightfully served in a copper mug and garnished with real ginger.
