You can either grab sushi from a fridge at your local bodega or you can get it the way it’s meant to be served at Sushi Nakazawa. With an omakase system (meaning the chef chooses for you), you and yours will be treated to a TWENTY COURSE meal from Chef Daisuke Nakazawa (aka the guy this place is named after). From Skipjack Tuna to Hay-Smoked Sockeye Salmon, prepare to get the royal treatment in raw fish delicacy inside this high-end sushi bar’s chic and simplistically black and white setting. Dinner is $120 per person at a table and $150 at the bar.
After dinner, dessert is a far cry from fancy at Grom, a local ice cream shop that specializes in the best of the best in 100 percent natural homemade gelato, sorbet, and granita. Their Italian roots show in the variety of flavors they offer (aside from the classics), like Stracciatella and Crema di Grom (which is basically biscotti, but ice cream). The space itself is relatively small, but the flavors more than make up for the low-key digs.
