PLAN DATE: SUN / SEPT. 15
Enjoy bites from classic northern Brooklyn restaurants while supporting a local charity at the 10th annual TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint festival, on the water at East River State Park. General admission gets you eight food “tastes” and all-you-can-drink beverages, or splurge on the VIP tickets for all-you-can-eat and drink, plus early access to the event and a lounge with plenty of seating. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Firehouse North Brooklyn Community Center, which is almost ready to re-open as a free community hub.
Turkey’s Nest is one of those Williamsburg dive bar legends you hope never dies–but with their prices so low, you wonder how they’re affording rent. The best part of these cheap pours is the way they’re served: in giant, 32 ounce styrofoam to-go cups. Can you leave the bar with them? Well, we don’t condone illegal activity, but it sure would be nice to take a big refreshing, unmarked drink to the park across the street for the evening.
