The Village Den x Hudson Bar And Books

Raise your hand if you also binged the entire Queer Eye series in under a week. Well, if you’re like us, then you’re obsessed with all five of these dudes now. Catch one of them (or maybe all of them, who knows?) at The Village Den, a neighborhood staple recently purchased by Antoni Porowski (aka, hot chef). The spot is all about healthier comfort food—think vegetable-forward and free of gluten, soy, and red meat. The menu is broken up by various popular nutrition plans: each item is coupled with icons noting whether it’s Whole30, Paleo, ketogenic, plant-based, vegetarian, dairy, gluten-free, or detox (which seems to superfluously indicate the inclusion of a “detox powder” supplement). Be sure to Instagram the giant mural which incorporates a lot of West Village history alongside current social icons. Re: @GirlWithNoJob.

Post-dinner, head to Hudson Bar and Books to drink, read and smoke a cigar (don’t smoke) in a classic library scene. We love the random quirky touches like the colonial English monkey sconces, copper bar, and tin ceiling. Pick a corner and cozy up with drinks, good conversation, and the background hum of a James Bond film.
